Munich offers a summery sandy beach and holiday feeling right in the city! The cultural beach at Corneliusbrücke invites you to enjoy the view of the Isar. Another address for urban relaxation is the Maximilian beach at the Wittelsbacherbrunnen fountain. Anyone can drop by either place and enjoy the summer atmosphere.
The "urbanauten Kulturstrand" will be back again this year on the Corneliusbrücke from May up to September. It enables all Munich citizens and of course all guests to experience the summer holiday feeling on the beach right by the Isar. Between live-music, film screenings and workshops, there are many other events on the programme, further details on the several events can be found on the urbanauten website.
Every day from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. people can meet here to relax and enjoy the cultural programme. Everyone is welcome to think, talk and help design the event. In combination with the beach feeling, visitors can expect a wide range of music, children's and sports programme. On eight days the so-called courtyard concerts are going to take place with live-music, a lounge and a photo booth.
All dates for the entire programme or other events can be found in the Kulturstrand programme calendar and on the official Facebook page of the urbanauten. On this page, the organisers also provide information about rain, highlights and the life at the Kulturstrand.

A second "Kulturstrand" also opened in Munich in mid-May 2024: Maximilian's Beach directly behind the Wittelsbacherbrunnen fountain. The organisers behind Urbanauten, who also run the cultural beach on the Isar, had 26 tonnes of sand piled up there. Visitors to Stachus now not only get that beach feeling, but also live concerts and cool drinks. The Maximiliansstrand runs just as long as the Kulturstrand!
